Basics - White Button Down Shirt

Of course, we all have a simple white button down shirt, and if you don't, your man has one you can borrow.

It's another wardrobe essential and here are five chic ways to wear it this Fall.

1. With black leather pants, high heeled pumps, classic black sunglasses and a structured bag.

For the Birds

I saw so many beautiful birds on my walk around the harbor yesterday and it inspired me to do a little birding on the internet...

Rubber Ducky, You're the One

Lucy is such a water baby and really loves her bath time. My mom got this amazing inflatable rubber ducky bath which is not only adorable, but totally practical. It is so easy to store (just deflate it and fold it up and you can stick it in a drawer) and it even has a temperature indicator... the word "Hot" shows up if the water is too toasty for a baby. Very cool for just $12!

And no baby bath is complete without some delicious smelling suds and soaps. Lucy's wonderful Aunt Katie works for Johnson & Johnson so we get all kinds of baby bath goodies. These are Lucy's current faves:

They make her smell like a dreamy little lavender meadow when she gets done with her bath!

Sesame Carrot Spaghetti

Perhaps you are in the mood for something noodle-ish but you've somehow gotten involved in a bet where you have to be a vegan for an entire  year or else you owe some Wall Street trader ten grand? Carrots to the rescue!

Sesame Carrot Spaghetti

Julienne three large carrots, thinly slice a heap of mushrooms and a quarter of a large white onion.

Next, throw these all in a skillet of sizzling sesame oil and garlic (and butter, if you are not a vegan).

Toss the veggies around the pan until the carrots go all soft , the onions get slippery and the mushrooms have soaked up the sesame oil and butter flavor like good little sponges.

Serve it in a big heap like it's spaghetti, liberally sprinkled with sesame seeds.

Luckily, I am not involved in a vegan-for-a-year bet, so I've added some sauteed in soy-sauce-chicken-chunks to my veggie pasta.
