Beige ... the Right Way
I spent seven LOOONG days in the hospital last week bringing my gorgeous and super sweet baby girl into the world. Both the labor room (where I waited in frustration and pain for three days) and the recovery room (where I smiled and stared and hugged and kissed my little Lucy for four days) were completely beige, and not in that luxurious, understated chic way, but in the most offensively boring way possible.
In an effort to not dislike the neutral tone for the rest of my life, here are two truly beautiful beige rooms

From Outfit to Entryway
When it was on, I LOVED super funny, super creative decorator, Thom Filicia's show, Dress My Nest.
The premise was that an interior design challenged person would present Thom with his/her favorite outfit and Thom would redo a room or sometimes an entire apartment inspired by that outfit and always managed to make a fun and extremely stylish space that expressed the personal style of the person who lived there.
In keeping with that idea, I've taken a stab at interpreting this adorable summer outfit and creating an entryway inspired by the look.

A Little Something Spicy
Here's a spicy Thai dinner that anyone can make at home in minutes...
Beef Rice Noodles in Spicy Peanut Sauce
Chop a steak into bite size pieces
Chop 1/4 of a white onion into strips
Chop 2 Carrots into slivers
Heat Sesame Oil in medium pan over high heat
When the oil begins to sizzle add steak, onion and carrots to the pan
Throw in a heaping handful of peanuts
Bring salted water to a boil and add rice noodles
When the rice noodles are cooked, drain and return to bowl
Stir in Spicy Peanut Sauce (I like this kind best)
Add steak, carrots, onions and peanuts to the noodles
Place onto serving dishes
Top with fresh cilantro and sesame seeds
Finish up with a Fortune Cookie
